DISTRACTION IS A DESTINY KILLER

Gen 32:22-24..."And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok, he took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had. Then Jacob was left alone; and a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day".

One of the greatest adversary of man is distraction, that is, lack of focus. If you are not sensitive in the spirit, distractions will take away your inheritance. A whole lot of Christians are in Church today but they are not focused to have an encounter with God in order to receive their blessing. They are busy with things that would not edify God. Some are busy with activities, gossip, and in fact, some are busy looking for sex in Church!

Jacob noticed that some things did not add up in his life, that he needed to focus on God devoid of any distractions. See what he did in our bible text for today. He sent away everything that could distract him from having an encounter with God. He sent his wives, children, servants and what he had over until he was ALONE. He was focused, resolute and determined to have a change of status, a change of name and a change of circumstances. He refused to let God go until he was blessed.

See vs 28 "And He said, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Isreal, for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed. Halleluyah!!
When last did you create time out to be with the Lord? Stop giving excuses,it is time to do away with every distractions around you and focus on God so you can receive the blessing that will propel you to the next level.

Jacob took a decision and his life never remained the same and through his lineage Jesus came into the world. You can take a decision today. Do away with those magazines, books, switch off that TV, stop back biting, gossips, do away with friends and associates that does not add value to your life, and get focused on God.

Pray aloud; Father, grant me the grace to do away with distractions and to be focus on you in jesus name!

Shalom!
